When you think of New Year's resolutions, you think of what new goals you want to achieve. Often this brings to mind what you have not done yet or achieved in the past year. I would begin in the reverse first. As part of this process, take a look at what you already have accomplished and are doing that works.

Here are some things to consider and to continue to do that will create a big difference in your life:

  • First, remember to keep what is working - finances, health, relationships, and be grateful.
  • Listen carefully.
  • Give things your full attention.
  • Give thanks for all the special people in your life.
  • Pick out favorite things at your home and think about why they are sospecial to you.
  • Stay in touch with friends.
  • Write a letter of appreciation to those who have made a difference in your life.
  • Do what has been on your "list" for a long time.
  • Measure progress of goals and not just end results.
  • Plan time to do things you enjoy at least twice a week. They could be as simple as that walk on the beach or lunch with a friend. Choose things that "lift you up."
  • Laugh a lot more and be with people who make you laugh.
  • Fret alot less. This can be hard to break, so set a time limit as to how long you are going to spend time worrying about what could happen.
  • Clean out the old to may way for the new. The beginning of the new year is such a great time to start new and one of the ways to do that is to get rid of what you do not use or need.

We all have a fresh start as we begin 2011. I wish you peace, clarity, joy and abundance in the new year.
